Kappa Nu Omega Sorority, Inc follows a MIP (Member Intake Process) rather than a 'pledge' process. Hazing is strongly prohibited within our organization and is subject to immediate dismissal.
No, KNOmega is strongly AGAINST any forms of hazing and we have created our own legal policy that includes forms of hazing such as:
Subtle (Ex. Demerits, "Greeting" members in a specific manner, restricting members from events, and communication, placing new members on the receiving end of ridicule, embarrassment, and/or humiliation tactics and anything to cause intentional emotional/mental/spiritual turmoil).
Harm to Well-Being (Ex. Sleep deprivation, physical anguish, harassing others)
VIOLENCE!
We have set affordable monthly membership rates to enable our members to have fun sisterly activities, community & volunteer services, access to discounted group travel and vacations, lifelong sisterhood and more!
We conduct a character background check that encompasses a social media site check and a professional reference check. While your application is being reviewed we will provide you with additional information. Having a Felony charge does exclude you from the MIP process.
The MIP Intake process takes 4 weeks to complete and each new member needs to complete only one session.
Our Intakes are held 4 times per year during the Winter, Spring, and twice in the Summer. Our Summer and Fall months are filled with sisterly events, community & volunteer activities, and group vacations.
Within our organization we focus on quality rather than a quantity in numbers. We dedicate the time to make sure no sister feels alone or left out within her process.
1. Attend an informational meeting (optional).
2. Complete an online application.
3. Receive a telephone interview/screening.
4. Meet our requirements to receive an Official Acceptance Letter.
5. Attend Orientation.
6. Complete your MIP (New Member Intake Process).
7. Attend your private Initiation/Crossing Ceremony.
